Cloud Grid Information (CGI)

Cloud grid information (CGI) data consists of five elements: total amount of cloud , amount of upper layer cloud , height of cloud top , amount of convection cloud (for cumulonimbus) and type of cloud. These data are derived from satellite image data observed by MTSAT-1R, and are used as objective material for local or aviation forecast operations.
